Do colleges look at retaking a class in high school?

So I didn't do so good in Pre Calc and Trigonometry, I got a 72 overall in it. I'm a sophomore, going to be a junior next school year. I would like to just move on and do better in Calculus, I can get help if I need it, or I could retake this class. Which should I do??? Do Colleges look at retaking a class? My guidance councilor says that they like that you are taking the initiative to retake it but I don't know. Any help?
