How do I tell my parents that I don't want to be an architect?

Well, the thing is when I first told my parents that I want to be a journalist, they scoffed at the idea. They're Indians and being Indians they told me to pick another career. Saying, "I don't know I'll figure it out" isn't really an option. So, I just said "an architect...I guess". I never really thought that they would take me seriously. My dad even went and bought a ton of books on architecture and gave them to me to read. The thing is, I never really let go of that dream of being a journalist. It sounds amazing, to be able to travel, to be able learn and see new things. TO WRITE! So, how should I tell them that my future is up to me?
