Writers: What are 3 ways in which your MC takes the initiative?

Taking the initiative is something my MC learns; it's how she changes, develops through the story. She's very quiet and in her early teens; happy to have an adventure, but never one to create her own, though likely to do something stupid that puts her life in danger.
