Why did my (former) friend get upset when I said "that word" (The n-word)?

I don't blame white people for saying it anymore. Black people have put this on themselves by allowing it in our music, and every day life. I don't care anymore. Anyone that says it is an idiot to me. You're all just a bunch of childish fools. "Well he gets to say it, why can't I." What a bunch of idiots.
