Which short paragraph sounds better?

I prefer the first. What you've done to create the telegraphic style of these paragraphs is to leave out the subject of every sentence. In the second paragraph, by dropping "is" you also leave out a verb (and only this verb in the whole paragraph), which unbalances the paragraph structure.
