Yet again, should i but a PC or Mac?

I have asked this before but I'm still not very sure. I need my own computer so bad. I have been set on a Macbook Pro but I'm barely a fifth of the way to buying it and all the stuff I need for it. I have a little over three hundred dollars saved towards it. I know I could buy a PC soon with what I'm earning and like I said I'm desperate but I want the best choice that will last me through college. Thank you for your help.
