If God is forgiving then wouldn't I go to heaven and there is no need for hell?
I saw this question on an answer. Hell, according to the bible, was designed for the rebellious angels that left their positions. Some suggest they are the sons of God that came to the earth to be with the women of human men as genesis clearly states. The offspring would be the heroes of old, men of legend, implying the source of myth and ancient stories. Any one following the teachings of the fallen angel and the other angels who follow in his footsteps would be considered his children and not God's. God's children would respond to His voice and receive the free gift of forgiveness and payment of punishment for our disobedience to His laws that are evident in nature. Hell is totally avoidable and not designed for us. The enemy is mad about this and will press upon a humans stubbornness and addiction to constant self indulgence to keep them unwilling to even look at God's offer. They in turn scoff and convince themselves that this God does not exist. Evidence of God is not the issue. It is the desires of the heart. Atheists can say there is no God and no hell but it won't make either go away. I have sinned enough for a few families so I have a deep understanding of what God has done for me so this is all easy to say. God IS forgiving but hell was not intended for humans. There is need for it as it is punishment for the fallen and those who follow them and refuse a free gift from the Creator. It's a choice. Yes God wants obedience and this would make free will seem not to be free if we choose God, but for the one who chooses obedience you are showing God something other than chasing desires. You are showing that you want something greater than what this world has to offer. The God of the bible says that the rewards of this obedience to his set laws will result in storing up riches in a new life, an eternal life with new bodies and new adventures. God is looking for obedience in this temporal life. 'This is a test, this is a test. This is only a test.' Respect to Tommy Victor.
