Is it just me or are Atheists just as irritating as Christians?

You know when an Atheist starts talking about science and if you believe in a god you must believe in Santa. They scoff and act as though they are superior to you simply because they think they are right even though all their scientific research can't pin point exactly how the universe started. Hell, I think some of them are just Atheists to appear smarter. Not the case at all. Thoughts?
