How do I not feel bad about myself for being low on the socio-economic scale?
Take money out of the equation. Money is NOT what is important in life. Sure, it helps to have money saved for when you need it. But, it shouldn't define you as a person. I say, forget how much money you have in the bank and instead focus on where you want your life to go. So, you might have to take the bus instead of buy a car. You still have means to improve your life and direct your life the way you want it to go. Focus on who you are without your job/education/bank account defining you. Who are you inside? Work on developing that person. Yes, focus on your education and bettering your financial situation but not for the sake of making it to the upper/middle class.
