Do Taurus men get dominated by Virgo women?

I have a Taurus friend and he is such a sweet, gentle man. But he seems to be completely dominated by his Virgo wife. If she doesn't want to do a certain thing, she compels him to not do it either. And he complies! I thought Taurus men were strong. Any views? And, please, do not scoff at astrology.
