Being one of the people teachers told I would never amount to anything, it is because they see that you are not putting any effort into anything, and you're not even trying. I saw this question on an answer. Hell, according to the bible, was designed for the rebellious angels that left their positions. Some suggest they are the sons of God that came to the earth to be with the women of human men as genesis clearly states. I am fully aware I am asking this on yahoo. There are hundreds of email providers out there but one will obviously be better than the others. I've managed to read some books in one sitting but then again, they're rarely 'hard going' books but more like, easy reading fiction and things like Twilight :p I find the same like you for books I have to read but then I just keep working through them, telling myself that in this hour I will read it and try and get to a certain page number. If its boring I work on chapters/page numbers and getting over them. If it's interesting to me then I don't even remember those techniques.

They told me that I should focus on dreams that were possible. I was heartbroken, there was nothing else I wanted to do in my future. I searched up acting and singing lessons on the Internet, and sites told me that I have to have had numerous lessons to be a professional singer/ actress on something big and glamorous like broadway. It's not always the school...it's what you make of it. You made a wise choice if you visited them both, talked to current students/counselors. and chose the one that felt more like home to you. They are both good schools though. Emory is a little better, but you're in Baylor's honors college so it shouldn't be of much difference when applying to medical school. Puppy's tummy is alittle big... Help?

Hi my pup is a male mini schnauzer, about three month old. His belly is a bit big, scared it's bloat. He has been acting normal, sleeping a bit at my feet under table and attempting to chew plant etc. He hasn't pooped in about five and a half hours roughly but has been letting off gas... I can smell it... Im not really sure if it's been dramatic... I don't think it has... Dream about impressing people with something really easy?

Hm. If you look at the posts of middle school age children here on y/a, you might find that many of them can't spell even simple words, even something as simple as "our" which I often see written as "are". I couldn't say if it is because the school systems aren't measuring up, or if they're really bright kids with bad parenting, or if they're just plain dumb, but there are plenty of them on here. At the heart of this dream is that you are doing something that others consider extraordinary, and that you impress people with being smart. I had to look up the word just to find out what it means, so I could see if it had any bearing on this imagery. It seems to be a mathematics term. Looking at your post, and at a couple of your more recent questions, you are obviously very bright and articulate, and tackling mathematics questions that would leave me completely baffled. At the heart of this imagery, you're getting accolades for being above average, for rising above the standard. Or maybe being singled out as not the standard or the norm. Based on the rest of your post, you seem to find it hard to wrap your mind around the idea that you're smarter than the average bear. So I guess it's up to you to think on this awhile, it could be something like even though you're obviously smart, maybe you have low self esteem and tell yourself that you're not really smarter than average, or as smart as others think you are. Or you could be self conscious about how smart you are, feeling like a fish out of water around your peers, trying to fit in with people who obviously don't operate at the same level as you do (I can dig it. When I was in school I pretended to a lower standard in order to try and fit in better, I was aware that some of my classmates were uncomfortable with the standard I was at. Be careful about doing such a thing though, it brings on some bad habits that you won't want in your professional life, and school isn't forever, when you are older you will find it easier to attract people you can relate to better). Or you could be giving yourself an "atta boy" for something you accomplished during the day. Or you could be a little insecure and in need of someone to tell you that you're smarter than average once in awhile, or that you measure up to standards. Or you could be noting that you hold yourself and others to a higher standard. Or you could be studying too hard and thinking about math so much you're going over math terms in your sleep. You may be coming up on some exams and worried about the result. I imagine there are probably a couple of other notions that I've missed, but I guess it's up to you to think on your outlook for a while, and see if you can figure out what it is in your attitude toward yourself and your outlook toward the rest of the world, hopefully I have pointed you in a direction you can work with.

I wrote Panama.The clerk asked for my birth certificate, and than continued to inform us that it wasn't valid due to not saying 'Birth Abroad'. Tips and Ideas on a Story Plot?

I am a bit strange in my ways, but i live by them. First u need to figure out the exact place u want to end, i usually write the last few chapters first. Then put urself into that last scene where u got stuck and pretend u r the protagonist... and speak to the other characters. Its easier to think up how they will respond if u feel like u r really talking to them. U dont have to do it aloud, but try it before u call me crazy. :)

Tax question --- getting the IRS to act?

I am the guy who went in and filed 3 years worth of taxes two weeks ago because the IRS had inputed my income and thought I owed them a lot of taxes and penalties. As it turns out, once I finally filed the 1040's, I have a refund for 2 of the years and I just owe a few hundred for the third year...not the $44,000 the IRS inputed for me. But even though I have now filed the late tax returns and they show I don't own anything like $44,000, the IRS advisor I am working with says it will be 8 to 10 weeks before my returns are processed, and in the meantime the IRS will continue to pursue me for the $44,000. He says I could have my bank account leined, etc, but that if they take my money they will probably refund it at some later date. But that would shut me down as far as writing checks, ect. This guy with the IRS says there is no way he can halt the process until the returns are finally processed by the IRS. Does anyone know of a way that I can get the IRS office where I turned in the taxes (and which AGREES that I owe nothing or little at all) to simply pick up the phone and talk with the collections office? This is crazy!

Well, the thing is when I first told my parents that I want to be a journalist, they scoffed at the idea. They're Indians and being Indians they told me to pick another career. What do you do with your cat when you go on holiday?

My cats are indoor cat so if i leave for only a couple of days I leave a giant bowl of food, a giant bowl of water, an extra litter box, and the temp control of the house on at level appropriate for the season. If I were to leave for longer and had no family I would use a pets sitting service like "FETCH" to come check on them every day or two. You can google "FETCH" and other services on line. Ok.. Basicaly it sounds like the gas which should be vaporised is pooling in the intake. Its likely getting in because its not getting burned. I have seen this with both fuel and oil. The smog equipment on the car recirculates a percentage of exhause and crankcase vapors. Unless those misfires are caused by a bad spark plug or wire this will not be a cheap fix.

Hi there. Over the past 8 months I have used my initiative and went about changing my looks. I started off on my body, and worked really hard, and therefore have obtained a six pack and really nice big arms. So yes, I have got myself a really nice toned body which I did not have 8 months ago. Now, I want to improve on my face. I have natural light/pasty/pale skin, compared to dark tanned skin which people tend to love more. I have a really good diet (seeing as I have spent the last 8 months working on my body) consisting of plenty of fruit, vegetables, water, as well as green tea. Obviously I also have a required intake of protein, and I always eat proper meals. I also get good sleep and regular sunlight. However, I still have light/pasty skin. Is there anything I can do to get rid of my pasty/pale/light skin? To look good and to change my looks is my dream :)

How to scrape bacteria from agar plate?

I have 180 plates with hundreds thousand of single and each differentially unique colonies. I need to pool all the bacteria. The problem is some of the plates are stored in 4c for around one week and when I try to scrape them off, they are like mucus and very hard to resuspend them in broth. Even vortex doesn't help much. I try to pellet down the bacteria but there is no distinct pellet formed, but layers of insoluble "mucus". So I ended up only take the bottom layer and suspend it and discard all the upper layers. My question is: will it be possible the bacteria from the "old plates" (those that form mucus) is not present in the final bacteria suspension? As they are all in the mucus layers which I have already discarded. I just want to make sure my final bacteria suspension contains ALL the single unique bacteria from ALL the plates. Even one single bacteria will do.

How to deal with a rude fellow student (in graduate school !?)?

I'm having trouble dealing with some fellow graduate students that seem to have regressed to high school. I don't know anything about classroom dynamics and I'm beginning to get worried about this because the only answers I got when I googled this question were about situations with high school students, not twenty-something adults. My problem consists of a few insensitive female students who seem to get pleasure from embarassing other students in front of the professors. For example, if a student raises his or her hand to ask a question, and the professor takes it lightly or he plainly doesn't like it, these girls start rolling their eyes and turning their faces away in a 'Valley girl' stereotype-style. The other day I made the mistake of going to one of the professor's office along with my assignment partner to talk to him about something. The bitchiest of the 'Valley girls' was there (by the way, she and this male professor get along well) and my partner made the even bigger mistake of asking the professor for the grade of a previous assignment. Neither of us were happy with the grade we received, so we tried to talk the professor into reconsidering the reasons for which he took some points from us. As soon as my partner opened his mouth to say something, Alpha Valley Girl was already rolling her eyes and turning her head to the opposite direction. I felt so disrespected by her body language and by the fact that she was seating right across from the professor and he did nothing. He said he wouldn't reconsider our grades, but still, that didn't have anything to do with the fact that one of his students was openly disrespecting other students in his very office. And it's not like this is the first time she does this in front of him. I haven't heard anyone else complain about these Valley Girls' attitudes, but I'm certainly angry AND humiliated. If they would have pulled this **** as undergraduate students in my faculty, I'm pretty sure any of the professors would have stopped them right on their tracks and they would have been scoffed by the other students as the spoiled whiners they are. (I mean, how come at this stage of their lives nobody has sat them down and explained to them that rolling their eyes while someone speaks denotes really bad manners.) But, ironically, on graduate school nobody seems to care, or at least nobody talks about it. It's like they forgot about politeness and respect for other people's questions and doubts, and just went right back to teenage-land. What I would like to know is how to let this girl know that she's being a jerk, in a polite and CLASSY way.

Marriage hasn't failed, and its not a construct some 100 years old, its around as long as recorded civilization. What has happened is progressive liberals have realized that reducing your reliance on existing old institutions like church + marriage increases your reliance on government, which increases their power. So they have pursued over the last few hundred years policies that do all they can to break down existing institutions other then government. Its pretty obvious if you look at it - support for vague spirituality but any specific religion is a problem, teaching that the children are more important than the spouse, the whole "do what feels good" movement, etc.

I haven't paid rent increases in past but I wasn't asked to do so though it is in lease. What should I do?

I have been renting for 3 years and have always paid the rent. But I never got any notices of rent increases nor any communication whatsoever from the landlord (though the lease does state when and how much the rent increases should have taken effect during the past 3 years). Now my question is should I bring attention to the landlord of my past omissions or error in not paying the rent increases over the years and make amends or can I ignore it since he hadn't asked for the increases? And if I ignore the lease and he realizes this, does he have grounds to evict me? Is not taking the initiative myself and paying the rent increases a breach of the lease agreement?

Cat still greedy and selfish at 11 months!?

I'm so sorry you're having a lot to deal with, I can relate in some ways I suffer from depression, use to self harm myself (cutting), lost my dad when I was 7, just wanted to let you know you're not the only one because I know it can feel that way. I suggest first start taking the time to like yourself and love yourself, talk to your husband about how you feel maybe he will be supporting, after all you are together and communication is key. Try going out maybe getting a job somewhere, try talking to some of the workers at your husbands place. Say this to yourself ''I am beautiful, I am strong, I can do whatever I want, I deserve the best''. Say that to yourself over and over. Write out how you feel if you don't wanna talk to your husband. Try calling some of those family members you never do speak to such as cousins and such. Make a facebook many people are on there and so is your family most likely add them and add their friends. Talking online can be easier then in the real world. Go join a club, go to the park you might meet some other parents there, go to a church if your religious. Life is what you make it, if your sad and depressed feeling sorry for yourself life won't be a sunshine parade. You gotta live it up.

My 6 month old puppy chews everything in the house, but only when we are asleep or not home?

I've tried firmly saying no, swatting her lightly when she chews at night and I catch it. I've tried redirection to toys - we spend at least a hundred dollars a month on puppy chew toys that she just destroys right away. Should i go on vacation with my family or stay with my grandparents and work?

How can people deny evolution?

I am not sure about rottweilers these dogs as you have said are not the easy to train , The first thing i would do is get rid of all the flees that are still within this dog .I would be taking it to the vet to have the dog looked at. i do not know how much it is in the U.S.A .But here in Aussie Land it cost about $140. and that would include the flee injection . What grades did you get at GCSE - all As? What are you predicted for your AS/A levels - all As? If all of this is true, then talk to your college about perhaps adding some more A levels in less "fluffy" subjects than film studies and media studies. Yup, I've tried to trick me mind and all that but. Mm. There's a girl in me class right, and I am so damn shy and I admire her so damn much, (I'm a girl meself), and it makes me feel so (damn) pathetic, dunnit, cos she don't even go as far as look at me. I would read more but I have one very important tip: Don't have your characters tell us how they feel, show us how they feel. Don't say, "This greatly angered me." Show us that it angered her. Don't tell us something hurt her feelings or killed her, show us that it did. Having a character announce their feelings is weak and is a sign of bad writing, using the characters behavior to show us how they feel makes it more believable.

Far more women than men embrace such beliefs and study them on a serious level. Question about FAFSA student loans?

Ok, so here is the scenario... We have a chicken coop. And beside of this chicken coop is a really, really big field. Well, apparently rats lived in the field and they decided that our chicken coop was a much better home. I feel inferior everywhere i turn someones better than me, someone that doesnt stutter or crooked teeth or big feet or a better instrument than me or grades and friends, i know its bad to look through windows but its hard when you see it everyday in the halls, laughing and holding hands with their boyfriends mocking you with their scholarships and future plans. My future plans keep changing and before i know it id be graduating. I just need to get these things straightend out, people keep putting me down, all the jobs i want cant pay the bills or people doubt me and i give up. Any goals i have i either for get or give up. Face it im a failure, im just a black ***** failure.

So we were touring gyms today. He made the comment that I should go to the gym with him from now on. I told him that I hate gyms and the idea of sweaty people everywhere and people watching me work out is not my thing. He then said 'GOD, that is such a huge turn-off, if not the biggest." And scoffed at me like I was gross. Lately he has been getting on me about working out. I mean, I'm in decent shape as is. I only weigh 125, but I know he wants be to have a super-hot, trimmed body. So that comment offended me and kinda made me depressed. It makes me really self~conscience about myself, which is already added on to the fact that I already hate my physical appearance as is. And it makes me feel like he doesn't think I'm good enough for him yet and he is just settling for me and has to work with what he has. He thinks I read into the comment too much and I'm overreacting. Am I or is he genuinely a jerk?

Ok the bottom line is if i did something i i knew irritated my husband and he told me then i would try and change and take the criticism on board. I wouldnt throw a strop i'd try and get on with it. For example if he told me to lighten up a bit i'd try and be chirpier. But when i asked a Q on here to the effect that my husband basically bored the pants off me, was not at all passionate, never surprised me, did not have a funny bone in his body and was very quiet and serious, all i got was "why did you marry him", try and be spontaenous, dress up for him, tell him he's wonderful. Hello it was like he's the one who's losing his personality and im the one who has to dress up for him to make him passionate, im the one who has to compliment him in order to get a compliment back and im the one who has to be spontaenous for him to ignite a bit of passion. Whats the point in that, i mean thats still me doing it all and him acting like a puppy and taking my lead. Why cant he take the lead and initiative sometimes. It always him thats made to feel the victime, i get people saying the poor lad is putting a roof over your head. Again nothing to do with it, i work full time also, i cook all his meal, lunches, tea's, wash and iron but i dont see anyone noticing this. What do i have to do to actually make him have a bit of get up and go and a bit of life to him. Shy guy respect me too much to make move.. What?

should I do? First i told him i liked him right away. He had the initiative to ask me my phone number. To make it clear im second in command in the department he is, but im not his direct boss, unless the boss isnt present. The guy is a regular employee.. so in such case he need to respond to me. Im a really outgoing person, not at all shy and really vivid and happy. Can say i give soul to the place.. I was born on September 26,1989 in Panama on a military base. They only gave my parents one birth certificate, and that was the hospitals. I went to get my driver's permit in August of 2007, a couple of month away from my 18th birthday.When I passed the test, the application asks where you were born. I wrote Panama.The clerk asked for my birth certificate, and than continued to inform us that it wasn't valid due to not saying 'Birth Abroad'. My parents have gone through every possible embassy, department, etc. and have even sent hundreds of dollars; however they all have no evidence of my existence. this month i have paid hundreds for my cats and am giving them vet care from cheque to cheque. it just so happened that my new cat got pregnant as she ran away for a few days. i took her in for her respiratory problem, got that fixed, then her rabies shots and next am getting her spayed. i can hardly keep up with the vet bills and i feel they are pushing me to get additional examinations like blood work, chest xrays when i really dont see the need for them and it is extra money thrown in the mud for me... i feel like they are accusing me of not getting those done! no one is helping me out financially and i dont work that much at all. have you guys ever went through anything like this?

Try eating oatmeal or a high-fiber cereal for breakfast or eat whole grain toast or bagel with your veggie omlette, and drink lots of liquids (water is best) which expands the fiber in your system so you feel full. Parents constant bullying?

Basically, I’m really overweight, like loads. I hate my body and the way I look. My mum and her boyfriend are always on at me about my weight. They just insult me about it. I accept that they might suggest I go on a diet but they don’t, they make jokes up about my size. They are both very overweight as well but I try not to say anything back to them. I remember I once asked my mum what she liked about me and she said a few things and then said ‘you’re pretty’ and Lee scoffed and said ‘pretty ******* awful’ and my mum just laughed. And then my mum and Lee went into the things they hate about me. It was a very long list. I have started feeling guilty when I eat. I feel powerful and in control when I don’t eat and when I exercise. My dad has a girlfriend and he has pretty much left me behind and gone on to live his new life. He goes on holiday without me. Him and his girlfriend are normally okay to me. His girlfriend is jealous if he hugs me or anything but that is just her problems. My dad defends my mum and Lee as well so I can't go to him with my problems. I have wrote a question about my mum and Lee on here before. It hasn’t stopped. They are still as bad as they were then, if not much worse. Lee hurts me when he pushes and pulls me around. The other day I was in the bath and Lee knew but he still tried to come in. The door was locked luckily. He said it was because my music was too loud. Do you think it was alright for him to try to walk in? Do you think it’s okay that they bully me about my looks?
