Why are the deadly E.Coli cucumbers out to get us? Is it revenge for all the salads we've scoffed?

Because a lettuce starts to weaken and go limp as soon as it is picked, they need something like the cucumbers, which are much stronger, to fight their battles for them! What about the attack of the killer tomatoes eh?
